Maza Receives Endorsement Of Northampton County DA John Morganelli
Morganelli: Maza is an ally of law enforcement

EASTON, October 15, 2002 — Jim Maza, the Democratic candidate for the State Senate in the 24th District, today accepted the endorsement of Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli in a press conference held outside the Office of the District Attorney located in the Northampton County Courthouse.

“Jim Maza is a proven ally of law enforcement and public safety officials,” said Morganelli. “As a county commissioner he sponsored Youth Aid Panels, designed to prevent juvenile crime, and as both commissioner and township supervisor he made sure police had the resources they needed to keep our communities safe.”

“Jim Maza’s long and distinguished record of public service and pledge to keep those in the law enforcement community at the forefront of his service in the state senate earned him the endorsement of the Montgomery County Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.”

“I am proud to add my name to the long and impressive list of individuals and groups who are supporting his candidacy,” said Morganelli. “He will serve the Lehigh Valley and his entire district in the same bi-partisan, frugal manner he has served in public office over the last dozen years.”

Maza expressed his gratitude for District Attorney Morganelli’s endorsement.

“John Morganelli is committed to our communities and neighborhoods. He’s battled crime and fought to make the Lehigh Valley a safe place to raise a family and run a small business. To receive the endorsement of a public official of his stature is an honor and privilege,” said Maza.

“The residents of the 24th Senate District have my pledge that I will fight to make sure John Morganelli, our other district attorneys, and the rest of the law enforcement community have the resources they need to keep our homes, businesses, and streets safe and the tools necessary to keep those who would do harm behind bars.”
